Unfiltered Entertainment, Inc., worked over the months of September, October and November of 2008 to finish shooting Wake the Witch, a direct to DVD psychological horror/suspense feature film that is expected to be released through Amazon.com and Filmbaby.com this month. The company edited the film in Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 and shot the film using JVC's GY-HD250U camcorder, shooting more than 20 hours of footage during the course of 24 days.

NAB 2009: JVC shows GY-HM100 digital cinema camcorder system By John Virata
At NAB 2009, JVC was showcasing the GY-HM100 digital cinema camcorder system. Priced at around $4000, the dual format camera records to standard Class 5 SDHC solid state memory cards to .mp4 on XDCAM EX and Apple's .mov file format. It can record to 35Mbps, 25Mbps, and 19Mbps. The camera can record in virtually all flavors of HD, including 1920 x 1080 (1080p24/25/30, 1080i), and 1280 x 720P (p60/50/30/25/24).

JVC to showcase new ProHD Camcorder at Sundance 2009 in Park City Utah
The new JVC ProHD camcorder that records directly to Apple's QuickTime format will be showcased at Variety's New York Lounge in Park City, Utah during the 2009 Sundance Film Festival, 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM on January 16-18, 2009. Called the GY-HM100 and announced January 8, 2009, the camcorder can record 35Mbps high definition video and uncompressed audio to off the shelf, class 6 SDHC media cards.

At NAB 2008, JVC introduced the GY-HD200UB ProHD camcorder that supports dual live 720p and 1080i IEEE 1394 streams. The camcorder offers selectable live transport stream capabilities of 1080 60i and 50i signals or 720 24p, 25p, 30p, 50p and 60p all via the FireWire connection. It also offers full frame 1280x720 progressive imaging and 720p recording, the company said.
